Turning use of lock code on my device on or off
If you want to prevent others from accessing the contents of your device (such as pictures and messages), you need to turn on the lock code. Once done, it needs to be keyed in when you turn on your device.
Please note: the lock code doesn't protect your device against unauthorised use. Your SIM is protected by turning on your PIN.
List view
1. Find "Passcode Lock"
Tap Settings.
Tap General.
Tap Passcode Lock.
2. Choose option
Choose one of the following options:
Turn on use of lock code, go to 2a.
Turn off use of lock code, go to 2b.
Turn on use of lock code, go to 2a.
Turn off use of lock code, go to 2b.
3. 2a - Turn on use of lock code
Tap Turn Passcode On.
Key in a lock code of your own choice.
Key in the same lock code again.
Key in a lock code of your own choice.
Key in the same lock code again.
Tap Require Passcode.
Tap Immediately or the required interval.
Tap Passcode Lock to go back to the settings.
4. 2b - Turn off use lock code
Tap Turn Passcode Off.
Key in the lock code.
Key in the lock code.
5. Exit
Tap the Home key to return to standby mode.
Choose one of the following options:
Turn on use of lock code, go to 2a.
Turn off use of lock code, go to 2b.
