Set up your mobile phone for POP3 email
You can set up your mobile phone to send and receive email from your email accounts. Using POP3, your email are retrieved and stored locally on your mobile phone and at the same time they're deleted from the server. It is therefore not possible to access your email from different devices. Before you can set up your mobile phone for POP3 email, you need to set up your mobile phone for internet.
List view
Find "Accounts"
Slide your finger downwards starting from the top of the screen.
Tap the settings icon.
Tap Cloud and accounts.
Tap Accounts.
Create new email account
Tap Add account.
Tap Email.
Enter email address
Tap Email address and key in your email address.
Enter password
Tap Password and key in the password for your email account.
Tap SIGN IN.
If this screen is displayed, you email account has been recognised and set up automatically. Follow the instructions on the screen to key in more information and finish setting up your mobile phone.
Select server type
Tap POP3 account.
Enter username
Tap the field below "Username" and key in the username for your email account.
Enter incoming server
Tap the field below "POP3 server" and key in the name of your email provider's incoming server. If Optus is your email provider, key in mail.optusnet.com.au as your incoming server.

Turn off encryption of incoming email
Tap the drop down list below "Security type".
Tap None to turn off the function.
Enter incoming port number
Tap the field below "Port" and key in 110.

Turn deletion of email on server on or off
Tap the drop down list below "Delete Email from server".
Tap Never to keep email on the server when deleting them on your mobile phone.
Tap When deleted from Inbox to delete email on the server when deleting them on your mobile phone.
Enter outgoing server
Tap the field below "SMTP server" and key in smtp.optusnet.com.au.

Turn off encryption of outgoing email
Tap the drop down list below "Security type".
Tap None to turn off the function.
Enter outgoing port number
Tap the field below "Port" and key in 25.

Turn off SMTP authentication
Tap the indicator next to "Authentication required before sending emails" to turn off the function.
Tap SIGN IN.
Return to the home screen
Tap the Home key to return to the home screen.
Find "Email"
Slide your finger upwards on the screen.
Tap Samsung.
Tap Email.
Turn email notifications on or off
Slide your finger right starting form the left side of the screen.
Tap the settings icon.
Tap Notifications.
Tap the indicator next to the required email account to turn the function on or off.
Tap the Return key.
Turn on email synchronisation
Tap the required account.
Tap the indicator next to "Sync account" to turn on the function.
Enter account name
Tap Account name.
Key in a name for the email account and tap OK.
Enter sender name
Tap Your name.
Key in the required sender name and tap OK.
Select settings for retrieval of new email
Tap Sync schedule.
Tap Set sync schedule.
Tap the required setting.
Return to the home screen
Tap the Home key to return to the home screen.
