Installing my modem

Your modem needs to be installed before it can be used to establish a connection to the internet. Remember, you need an Optus SIM.

1. Insert SIM

Turn the front of your modem towards you.
Slide the cover downwards and remove it.
Place your SIM as illustrated next to the SIM holder.
Slide your SIM into the SIM holder.
Place the cover on your modem with a small opening at the top and slide the cover upwards.

2. Connect modem

Connect your modem to your computer's USB port.

3. Install modem

Double-click Optus Mobile Broadband.
Follow the instructions on the screen to install the modem.
The modem application starts automatically once the installation is complete.
If an incorrect PIN is entered three times in a row, your SIM will be blocked. To unblock your SIM, you'll need to key in your PUK. The PUK can be obtained by contacting Customer Service.
Please note:
If an incorrect PUK is entered ten times in a row, your SIM is blocked permanently. In this case, you'll need a new SIM from Optus.
If required, key in your PIN (default is 0000) and click OK.
If an incorrect PIN is entered three times in a row, your SIM will be blocked. To unblock your SIM, you'll need to key in your PUK. The PUK can be obtained by contacting Customer Service.
Please note:
If an incorrect PUK is entered ten times in a row, your SIM is blocked permanently. In this case, you'll need a new SIM from Optus.

4. Select rate plan type

Highlight one of the following options:
Optus Prepaid
Optus Postpaid
Optus Business
Click OK.
