Turn use of PIN on or off
Your PIN protects your SIM from unauthorised use if your mobile phone should get stolen. If use of PIN is turned on, it needs to be keyed in when you turn on your mobile phone.
List view
Find "SIM lock"
Tap the Left selection key.
Select Settings and tap the Left selection key.
Select Security and tap the Left selection key.
Select SIM lock and tap the Left selection key.
Turn on use of PIN
Select On and tap the Left selection key.
Key in your PIN and tap the Left selection key. The default PIN is 0000.
If an incorrect PIN is entered three times in a row, your SIM will be blocked. To unblock your SIM, you'll need to key in your PUK. The PUK can be obtained by contacting Customer Service. Please note: If an incorrect PUK is entered ten times in a row, your SIM is blocked permanently. In this case, you'll need a new SIM from Optus.
Turn off use of PIN
Select Off and tap the Left selection key.
Key in your PIN and tap the Left selection key. The default PIN is 0000.
If you key in an incorrect PIN three times in a row, your PIN will be blocked. To unblock your PIN, you need to key in the PUK which you can retrieve by contacting customer services. If an incorrect PUK is entered ten times in a row, your SIM is blocked permanently.
Return to the home screen
Tap Disconnect to return to the home screen.
