Use screen and keys on your Apple Watch

See how to use the screen and keys on your Apple Watch.


List view

Use Control Centre

Tap the Digital Crown to open and close Control Panel.
Tap the required function to open an application or turn the function on or off.

View notifications

Slide your finger downwards starting from the top of the screen to view notifications.
Tap the required notification to open it.

Delete notifications

Slide your finger left on the required notification.
Tap the delete icon to remove it.

Open Smart Stack

Slide your finger upwards starting from the bottom of the screen to open Smart Stack.

Use 3D Touch

Hard tap the screen to access extra functions and shortcuts in selected apps.

The Digital Crown

Tap the Digital Crown to open to the main menu.
Tap the Digital Crown several times to return to the home screen.
Turn the Digital Crown to navigate in a menu.
Tap the Digital Crown twice in quick succession to open the list of the most recently used apps.
Tap and hold the Digital Crown to turn on Siri.

The Side button

Tap and hold the Side button to turn your Apple Watch on or off.
Tap and hold the Side button to access the emergency call function.
Tap the Side button to open Control Panel.
In the Watch app on your mobile phone you can set the Dock to display recent apps or your selected favourite apps.
Tap the Side button twice in quick succession to turn on Apple Pay.
To use Apple Pay, you need to set it up on your mobile phone.
