Activating my mobile phone

You need to activate your mobile phone before using it for the first time and after a factory reset. It's easy, but remember you need to insert your SIM before you can use this function.


List view

1. Enter PIN

Slide your finger right on the display.
Tap Unlock.
If you enter an incorrect PIN three times in a row, your SIM will be blocked.
Key in your PIN and tap OK.
If your SIM is rejected:
Contact your mobile phone store or your service provider.
If you enter an incorrect PIN three times in a row, your SIM will be blocked.

2. Select general settings

Tap the required language.
Tap the required country or area.

3. Select connection type

To activate your mobile phone using Wi-Fi:
Tap the required Wi-Fi network or Choose another network.
Follow the instructions on the display to connect to the required Wi-Fi network.
To activate your mobile phone using the mobile network:
Tap Use Cellular Connection.

4. Turn location services on or off

Tap Enable Location Services or Disable Location Services.
If you select Disable Location Services:
Tap OK.

5. Select option

If this is the first time you use an iPhone:
Tap Set Up as New iPhone and go to step 5a.
Before you can select Restore from iCloud Backup or Restore from iTunes Backup you need an iTunes or iCloud backup of the phone memory from your previous iPhone.
If you've used an iPhone before and want to restore previous content from an iCloud backup:
Tap Restore from iCloud Backup and go to step 5b.
Before you can select Restore from iCloud Backup or Restore from iTunes Backup you need an iTunes or iCloud backup of the phone memory from your previous iPhone.
If you've used an iPhone before and want to restore previous content from an iTunes backup:
Tap Restore from iTunes Backup and go to step 5c.

6. 5a - "Set Up as New iPhone"

To activate your mobile phone using an existing Apple ID:
Tap Sign In with Your Apple ID.
An Apple ID gives you access to several functions on your mobile phone, such as iCloud, App Store and iTunes. If you choose to activate your mobile phone without an Apple ID, you can log on or create an Apple ID at a later time.
To activate your mobile phone using a new Apple ID:
Tap Create a Free Apple ID.

To activate your mobile phone without an Apple ID:
Tap Skip This Step.

Tap Don't Use.
Follow the instructions on the display to activate your mobile phone.

7. 5b - "Restore from iCloud Backup"

Tap Apple ID and key in the username for your Apple ID.
Tap Password and key in the password for your Apple ID.
Tap Next.
Follow the instructions on the display to log on to iCloud.
Tap the required backup.
Your mobile phone restores the contents of the selected backup.
Follow the instructions on the display to activate your mobile phone.

8. 5c - "Restore from iTunes Backup"

Start the program iTunes on your computer.
Before you connect your mobile phone and computer, you need to install iTunes on your computer.
Connect the data cable to the socket at the bottom of your mobile phone and to the computer's USB port.
Before you connect your mobile phone and computer, you need to install iTunes on your computer.
Click Restore from this backup.
Before you connect your mobile phone and computer, you need to install iTunes on your computer.
Click the drop down list next to "Restore from this backup".

Click the required backup.
