Setting up my mobile phone for email
Want to set up your mobile phone for email? It's easy, but remember you need to set up your mobile phone for internet before you can use this function.
List view
1. Find "Other email account"
Tap the menu icon.
Tap Email.
Tap Other email account.
2. Enter email address
Key in your email address.
If an email account has been created already, do the following instead:
Tap the menu icon.
Tap Settings.
Tap Add account.
Tap Other email account.
Tap the menu icon.
Tap Settings.
Tap Add account.
Tap Other email account.
3. Enter password
Tap Password and key in the password for your email account.
If the display tells you that your email account has been set up, go to step 14.
Tap Next.
If the display tells you that your email account has been set up, go to step 14.
4. Select server type
Tap POP3.
5. Enter username
Key in the username for your email account.
6. Enter incoming server
Tap the field below "POP3 server" and key in the name of your email provider's incoming server.
If Optus is your email provider, key in mail.optusnet.com.au as your incoming server.
If Optus is your email provider, key in mail.optusnet.com.au as your incoming server.
7. Enter incoming port
Tap the field below "Port" and key in 110
8. Turn off encryption of incoming email
Tap the drop down list below "Security type".
Tap None.
9. Turn deletion of email on server on or off
Tap the drop down list below "Delete email from server".
Tap Never or When I delete from Inbox.
Tap Next.
10. Enter outgoing server
Key in smtp.optusnet.com.au
11. Enter outgoing port
Tap the field below "Port" and key in 25
12. Turn off encryption of outgoing email
Tap the drop down list below "Security type".
Tap None.
13. Turn off SMTP authentication
Tap Require sign-in until the function is turned off.
Tap Next.
14. Select settings for retrieval of new email
Tap the drop down list below "Check frequency".
Tap Manual or the required period.
Tap the drop down list below "Messages to sync".
Tap the required number of messages.
15. Turn email notification on or off
Tap Notify me when email arrives to turn the function on or off.
16. Turn synchronisation of email on or off
Tap Sync email from this account to turn the function on or off.
Tap Next.
17. Enter account name
Key in the required name.
18. Enter sender name
Tap the field below "Your name (on outgoing messages)" and key in the required sender name.
19. Finish setup
Tap Next.
Wait while your mobile phone retrieves new email.

20. Return to the home screen
Tap the home icon to return to the home screen.
Key in your email address.
If an email account has been created already, do the following instead:
Tap the menu icon.
Tap Settings.
Tap Add account.
Tap Other email account.
Tap the menu icon.
Tap Settings.
Tap Add account.
Tap Other email account.
Key in the username for your email account.
Key in smtp.optusnet.com.au
Key in the required name.
