I can't use my mobile phone as a Wi-Fi Hotspot

This troubleshooting guide will take you through a number of possible causes to help you find a solution to your problem.

Possible cause 1:

The wrong password is entered on the device you want to connect from.: Enter the correct password.

1. 1. Find "Configure Wi-Fi hotspot"

Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your mobile phone.
Tap the settings icon.
Tap More....
Tap Tethering & portable hotspot.
Tap Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings.
Tap Configure Wi-Fi hotspot.

2. 2. Select Wi-Fi Hotspot settings

Tap the field below "Network SSID" and key in the required name for the Wi-Fi Hotspot.
Tap the drop down list below "Security".
If you don't want to password protect your Hotspot:
Tap None.
If you want to password protect your Hotspot:
Tap WPA2 PSK.
Tap the field below "Password" and key in the required password.
Tap Save.

3. 3. Turn on Wi-Fi Hotspot

Tap the return icon.
Tap Portable Wi-Fi hotspot until the function is turned on.
Tap OK.

4. 4. Establish connection

Do the following on the device which is to connect to your Wi-Fi Hotspot:
Turn on Wi-Fi.
Find the list of available Wi-Fi networks.
Select the network name you keyed in in step 2.
Key in the password you selected in step 2 and establish a connection to the Wi-Fi Hotspot.
When the connection is established, you can access the internet from the other device.

5. 5. Return to the home screen

Tap the home icon to return to the home screen.
