Setting up my mobile phone for Exchange email
Want to set up your mobile phone for Exchange email? Follow these easy instructions.
Tap Apps.
Tap Settings.
Tap More settings.
Tap Mobile networks.
Tap Access Point Names.
Tap the Menu key.
Tap New APN.
Tap Name.
Key in Optus email and tap OK.
Tap APN.
Key in yesinternet and tap OK.
Tap MCC.
Key in 505 and tap OK.
Tap MNC.
Key in 02 and tap OK.
Tap Authentication type.
Tap PAP.
Tap APN type.
Key in default and tap OK.
Tap the Menu key.
Tap Save.
Tap the field next to Optus email to fill in the field.
Tap the Home key to return to standby mode.
Tap Apps.
Tap Email.
Tap account@example.com and key in your email address.
Tap Password and key in your password.
Tap Manual setup.
Tap Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
Tap the field below Domain\user name.
Enter domain and username separated by a "\".
Tap the field below Exchange server and key in the server address.
Tap Use secure connection (SSL) to turn SSL encryption on or off.
When the box next to the menu item is ticked (V), the function is turned on.
Tap Next.
Tap the drop down list below Peak schedule and Off-peak schedule.
Tap Push, Manual or the required interval.
Please note:
Each time the phone connects to the server to synchronise, data charges will apply.
Tap Period to sync Email.
Tap the required setting.
Tap Emails retrieval size.
Tap the required setting.
Tap Period to sync Calendar.
Tap the required setting.
Tap the following data types to turn synchronisation on or off.
Sync Email
Sync Contacts
Sync Calendar
Sync Task
When the menu item is ticked (V), synchronisation is turned on.
Tap Next.
Tap the field below Give this account a name (Optional) and key in the required name.
Tap Done.
Tap the Home key to return to standby mode.
