How to

Turn GPS on or off

Your mobile phone can determine your geographical position using GPS (Global Positioning System). The information about your location can be used by a number of applications on your mobile phone such as navigation, the search function or weather forecast.

List view

Find "Location"

Slide your finger downwards starting from the top of the screen.
Tap the settings icon.
Tap Location.

Turn use of GPS position on or off

Tap the indicator next to "Location" to turn the function on or off.
If you turn on location access, your mobile phone can find your position using GPS. If you turn off the function, you can't use any of the GPS functions on your mobile phone.

Select positioning method

Tap Mode.
If you select High accuracy, your mobile phone can find your exact position using GPS satellites, the mobile network and nearby Wi-Fi networks. Satellite-based GPS requires a clear view of the sky.
If you select Power saving, your mobile phone can find your approximate position using the mobile network and nearby Wi-Fi networks.
If you select GPS only, your mobile phone can find your exact position using GPS satellites but it may take longer as there is no access to supplementary information from nearby mobile or Wi-Fi networks.
