Setting up my mobile phone for MMS
Want to set up your mobile phone for MMS? Follow these easy instructions.
List view
1. Find "Access points"
Tap the Menu key.
Scroll to Tools and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Settings and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Connection and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Access points and tap the Navigation key.
2. Create new data connection
Tap Options.
Scroll to New access point and tap the Navigation key.
3. Enter data connection name
Scroll to Connection name and tap the Navigation key.
Key in Optus MMS and tap the Navigation key.
4. Select data bearer
Scroll to Data bearer and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Packet data and tap the Navigation key.
5. Enter APN
Scroll to Access point name and tap the Navigation key.
Key in MMS and tap the Navigation key.
6. Enter MMS server
Scroll to Homepage and tap the Navigation key.
Key in http://mmsc.optus.com.au:8002/ and tap the Navigation key.
7. Enter IP address
Tap Options.
Scroll to Advanced settings and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Proxy server address and tap the Navigation key.
Key in 61.88.190.10 and tap the Navigation key.
8. Enter port
Scroll to Proxy port number and tap the Navigation key.
Key in 8070 and tap the Navigation key.
9. Save data connection
Tap Back twice to save the settings and return to the list of data connections.
Tap the Menu key to return to standby mode.
10. Find "Multimedia message"
Tap the Menu key.
Scroll to Communic. and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Messaging and tap the Navigation key.
Tap Options.
Scroll to Settings and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Multimedia message and tap the Navigation key.
11. Select data connection
Scroll to Access point in use and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Optus MMS and tap the Navigation key.
12. Select setting for MMS download
Scroll to Multimedia retrieval and tap the Navigation key.
If you select Always automatic, you'll receive all MMS.
If you select Auto in home netw., you'll be notified before you receive MMS when you're out of range of your home network.
If you select Manual, you'll always be notified before you receive MMS.
If you select Off, only headers are retrieved. You then have to retrieve the MMS manually.

Scroll to Always automatic and tap the Navigation key.

13. Turn request for delivery reports on or off
Scroll to Receive report and tap the Navigation key to select Yes or No.
If you turn on delivery reports, you'll be notified when your message has been delivered. This requires that sending of delivery reports has been turned on by the recipient.
14. Exit
Tap the Menu key to return to standby mode.
