Setting up my mobile phone for email
Want to set up your mobile phone for email? Follow these easy instructions.
Tap the Menu key.
Scroll to Tools and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Settings and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Connection and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Access points and tap the Navigation key.
Tap Options.
Scroll to New access point and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Connection name and tap the Navigation key.
Key in Optus email and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Data bearer and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Packet data and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Access point name and tap the Navigation key.
Key in yesinternet and tap the Navigation key.
Tap Back to save the settings and return to the list of data connections.
Tap the Menu key to return to standby mode.
Tap the Menu key.
Scroll to Communic. and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Messaging and tap the Navigation key.
Tap Options.
Scroll to Settings and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to E-mail and tap the Navigation key.
Tap Options.
Scroll to New mailbox and tap the Navigation key.
Tap the Navigation key.
Tap No.
Key in your email address and tap the Navigation key.
Key in the password for your email account at your mail provider and tap the Navigation key.
Key in the username for your email account and tap the Navigation key.

Follow steps 14 through 18.

Tap the Navigation key.
Highlight the required email account and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Connection settings and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Incoming e-mail and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Access point in use and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to User defined and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Optus email and tap the Navigation key.
Tap Back.
Scroll to Outgoing e-mail and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Access point in use and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to User defined and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Optus email and tap the Navigation key.
Tap Back twice.
Scroll to User settings and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to My name and tap the Navigation key.
Key in the required sender name and tap the Navigation key.
Tap Back.
Scroll to Automatic retrieval and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to E-mail retrieval and tap the Navigation key.
Highlight Enabled, Only in home netw. or Disabled and tap the Navigation key.
If you select Enabled or Only in home netw.:
Tap the Navigation key to confirm.
Tap the Menu key to return to standby mode.
Scroll to POP3/IMAP4 and tap the Navigation key.
Tap the Navigation key to confirm.
Scroll to POP3 and tap the Navigation key.
Key in the name or the IP address of your service provider's incoming server and tap the Navigation key.
If Optus is your email provider, key in mail.optusnet.com.au as your incoming server.
Scroll to None and tap the Navigation key.
Key in smtp.optusnet.com.au and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to None and tap the Navigation key.
Key in 25 and tap the Navigation key.
Tap the Navigation key.
Highlight the required email account and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Connection settings and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Incoming e-mail and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Access point in use and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to User defined and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Optus email and tap the Navigation key.
Tap Back.
Scroll to Outgoing e-mail and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Access point in use and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to User defined and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Optus email and tap the Navigation key.
Tap Back twice.
Scroll to User settings and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to My name and tap the Navigation key.
Key in the required sender name and tap the Navigation key.
Tap Back.
Scroll to Automatic retrieval and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to E-mail retrieval and tap the Navigation key.
Highlight Enabled, Only in home netw. or Disabled and tap the Navigation key.
If you select Enabled or Only in home netw.:
Tap the Navigation key to confirm.
Tap the Menu key to return to standby mode.
