Turning my mobile phone PIN on or off
If you want to protect your SIM against unauthorised use, you need to turn on your PIN protection. Once done, it needs to be keyed in when you turn on your mobile phone.
Please note: your PIN doesn't prevent others from accessing the contents of your mobile phone (such as pictures and messages). You can prevent this by turning on the phone lock code.
Tap the Menu key.
Scroll to Tools and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Settings and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to General and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Security and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to Phone and SIM card and tap the Navigation key.
Scroll to PIN code request and tap the Navigation key.
Please note:
If an incorrect PUK is entered ten times in a row, your SIM is blocked permanently. In this case, you'll need a new SIM from Optus.
Highlight On or Off and tap the Navigation key.

Key in your PIN (default is 0000) and tap the Navigation key.

Tap the Menu key to return to standby mode.
