I can't turn on my modem

This troubleshooting guide will take you through a number of possible causes to help you find a solution to your problem.

Possible cause 1:

Your modem hasn't been connected correctly: Remove all cables from your modem and reconnect them making sure they are connected properly in the correct sockets and ports. See how to connect your modem correctly.

1. Connect LAN connection

Turn the back of your modem towards you.
Connect the coaxial cable to the coaxial port.
Connect the power supply to the power plug.
Connect one end of the yellow network cable to the "LAN" port in your modem and the other end to your computer.
You can also establish a wireless connection to your modem.

2. Turn on modem

Tap On/Off to turn on your modem.

3. Start configuration of your modem

Open a browser.
Click the address bar and go to https://newmodem.optusnet.com.au
Click Username and key in your username for OptusNet.
The username for OptusNet is your email address, eg. johncitizen@optusnet.com.au.
Click Password and key in your password for OptusNet.
Click Login.
Click Validate.
