Setting up my mobile phone for email
Want to set up your mobile phone for email? It's easy, but remember you need to set up your mobile phone for internet before you can use this function.
List view
1. Find "email+accounts"
Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your mobile phone.
Tap ALL SETTINGS.
Tap ALL SETTINGS.
Tap email+accounts.
2. Create new email account
Tap add an account.
3. Select email provider
Tap the required provider or advanced setup.
4. Enter email address
Tap the field below "Email address" and key in your email address.
5. Enter password
Tap the field below "Password" and key in the password for your email account.
If the display tells you that your email account has been set up, follow the instructions on the display to select more settings and finish the setup.
Tap next.

6. Select account type
Tap Internet email.
7. Enter account name
Tap the field below "Account name" and key in the required name.
8. Enter sender name
Tap the field below "Your name" and key in the required sender name.
9. Enter incoming server
Tap the field below "Incoming email server" and key in the name of your email provider's incoming server.
If Optus is your email provider, key in mail.optusnet.com.au as your incoming server.
If Optus is your email provider, key in mail.optusnet.com.au as your incoming server.
10. Select server type
Tap the field below "Account type".
Tap POP3.
11. Enter username
Tap the field below "Username" and key in the username for your email account.
12. Enter outgoing server
Tap the field below "Outgoing (SMTP) email server" and key in smtp.optusnet.com.au
13. Turn off SMTP authentication
Tap Outgoing server requires authentication until the function is turned off.
14. Edit advanced settings
Tap advanced settings.
15. Turn off encryption of email
Tap Require SSL for incoming email and Require SSL for outgoing email until the function is turned off.
16. Select settings for retrieval of new email
Tap the field below "Download new content".
Tap the required interval or manually.
17. Select period for synchronisation of email
Tap the field below "Download email from".
Tap the required period or any time.
18. Finish setup
Tap sign in.
19. Return to the home screen
Tap the home icon to return to the home screen.
