Setting up and using my mobile phone as a Wi-Fi Hotspot

Want to let other mobile phones or computers establish an internet connection using your mobile phone as a Wi-Fi Hotspot? It's easy, but you need to set up your mobile phone for internet before you can use this function.


List view

1. Find "Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings"

Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your mobile phone.
Tap the settings icon.
Tap More.
Tap Mobile network sharing.
Tap Portable Wi-Fi hotspot settings.

2. Select Wi-Fi Hotspot settings

Tap the field below "ROUTER NAME (SSID)" and key in the required name for the Wi-Fi Hotspot.
Tap the field below "SECURITY".
If you don't want to password protect your Wi-Fi Hotspot:
Tap None.
If you want to password protect your Wi-Fi Hotspot:
Tap WPA2 (AES).
Tap the field below "PASSWORD" and key in the required password.

3. Turn on Wi-Fi Hotspot

Tap Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot until the function is turned on.
Tap OK.

4. Establish connection

Do the following on the device which is to connect to your Wi-Fi Hotspot:
Turn on Wi-Fi.
Find the list of available Wi-Fi networks.
Select the network name you keyed in in step 2.
Key in the password you selected in step 2 and establish a connection to the Wi-Fi Hotspot.
When the connection is established, you can access the internet from the other device.

5. Return to the home screen

Tap the Home key the necessary number of times to return to the home screen.
