I can't use tethering on my mobile phone

This troubleshooting guide will take you through a number of possible causes to help you find a solution to your problem.

Possible cause 1:

Your computer and phone haven't been set up for tethering correctly: Set up your mobile phone and computer for tethering.

1. 1. Install HTC Sync Manager

Go to www.htc.com on your computer.
Find the download section on the website to download HTC Sync Manager.
Download and install HTC Sync Manager on your computer.

2. 2. Select setting for USB connection

Tap the menu icon.
Tap Settings.
Tap Connect to PC.
Tap Default connection type.
Tap USB tethering.
Tap Ask me to turn off the function.
When the field next to the menu item is empty, the function is turned off.
Tap the Return key.

3. 3. Use tethering

Tap More.
Tap Portable hotspot & tethering.
Tap USB tethering setting.
Tap Windows or Mac OS X depending on the operating system on your computer.
Connect the data cable to the phone socket and to your computer's USB port.
Tap USB tethering to turn on tethering.
When the field next to the menu item is ticked (V), the function is turned on.
An internet connection from the computer via your mobile phone is established.
