Setting up my mobile phone for Exchange email
Want to set up your mobile phone for Exchange email? Follow these easy instructions.
List view
1. Find "Access Point Names"
Tap the menu icon.
Tap Settings.
Tap Mobile network.
Tap Access Point Names.
2. Create new data connection
Tap Menu.
Tap New APN.
3. Enter data connection name
Tap Name.
Key in Optus email and tap OK.
4. Enter APN
Tap APN.
An APN (Access Point Name) is used to establish a data connection.
Key in yesinternet and tap OK.

5. Enter country code
Tap MCC.
Key in 505 and tap OK.
6. Enter network code
Tap MNC.
Key in 02 and tap OK.
7. Select authentication type
Tap Authentication type.
Tap PAP.
8. Select APN type
Tap APN type.
Key in default and tap OK.
9. Save and activate data connection
Tap Menu.
Tap Save.
Tap the field next to Optus email to fill in the field.
Tap the Home key to return to standby mode.
10. Find "Mail"
Tap the menu icon.
Tap Mail.
11. Create new email account
Tap Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync.
If email accounts have been created already, tap Menu. Tap New account.
12. Enter email address
Key in your email address.
13. Enter password
Tap Password and key in the password.
Tap Manual setup.
14. Enter server address
Tap the field below Server address and key in the server address.
15. Enter domain name
Tap the field below Domain and key in the domain name.
16. Enter username
Tap the field below Username and key in your username.
17. Turn SSL encryption on or off
Tap This server requires an encrypted SSL connection to turn SSL encryption on or off.
SSL encryption protects your email when sending and receiving email. If you turn on SSL encryption, your email provider and internet service provider need to support this function, and you might need to select further settings before you can send and receive email.
When the field next to the menu item is ticked (V), the function is turned on.

18. Select data types for synchronisation
Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendar or Tasks to turn synchronisation on or off.
When the field next to the menu item is ticked (V), synchronisation is turned on.
19. Select setting for retrieval of new email
Tap Manually or the required setting.
Tap Next.

Each time the phone connects to the server to synchronise, data charges will apply.

20. Enter account name
Key in the required name.
21. Exit
Tap Finish setup.
Tap the Home key to return to standby mode.
