Setting up my mobile phone for email
Want to set up your mobile phone for email? Follow these easy instructions.

1. Find "APN"
Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your mobile phone.

Tap the field below Access Point Name (APN).

4. Find "Accounts"
Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your mobile phone.

5. Create email account
If you've already set up an email account:
Tap Add Account.
Tap Add Account.
Tap Email, Calendar and Contacts.
6. Enter email address
Key in your email address and tap Next.
7. Enter password
Key in the password for your email account and tap Next.

9. Enter email account name
Tap the field below Description and key in a name for the email account.
10. Select data types
Tap the indicator next to Sync Email, Sync Contacts and Sync Calendar to turn synchronisation of each data type on or off.
11. Activate email account
Tap Done.
Wait a moment while your email account is activated.

12. Edit email account settings
Tap the email account you've just set up.
13. Select setting for retrieving new email
Tap the field below Sync Interval.
Tap the required period or Manual.
14. Save and exit
Tap Save.

15. Enter email account name
Tap the field below Description and key in a name for the email account.
16. Enter sender name
Tap the field below Display Name and key in the required sender name.
17. Enter username
Tap the field below Username and key in the username for your email account.
18. Enter email address
Tap the field below Email Address and key in your email address.
19. Enter password
Tap the field below Password and key in the password for your email account.
20. Enter incoming server
Tap the field below Server Address and key in the name of your email provider's incoming server.
If Optus is your email provider, key in mail.optusnet.com.au as your incoming server.

21. Enter incoming port number
Tap the field below Port.

22. Turn off SSL encryption of incoming email
Tap the indicator next to Use SSL to turn off SSL encryption.
23. Enter outgoing server
Tap the field below SMTP Server Address and key in smtp.optusnet.com.au
24. Enter outgoing port number
Tap the field below SMTP Port and key in 25
25. Turn off SSL encryption of outgoing email
Tap the drop down list below SMTP Encryption.
Tap Off.
26. Select setting for retrieving new email
Tap the drop down list below Sync Interval.
Tap the required period or Manual.
27. Select period for retrieving email
Tap the drop down list below Initial Retrieval Amount.
Tap the required period.
28. Save information
Tap Done.
29. Exit
