How to

Writing text on my mobile phone

Want to learn how to write text, such as notes or messages? There are various ways of writing text. Follow these easy instructions.

1. Select text input settings

Text input is used in many of the mobile phone functions, such as notes and messages. The following steps require that you're writing text and that the keypad is visible.

2. Find "Typing and Language"

Tap the Menu key twice.
Tap Options.
Tap Typing and Language.

3. Choose option

Choose one of the following options:
Select writing language, go to 3a.
Turn word suggestion on or off, go to 3b.

4. 3a - Select writing language

Tap Language and Method.
Tap Input Language.
Tap the required language.
Tap the Menu key.
Tap Save.

5. 3b - Turn word suggestion on or off

Tap Typing.
If you turn word suggestion on, words are suggested as you key in the first letters.
Tap Style.
If you turn word suggestion on, words are suggested as you key in the first letters.
Tap Predictive.
If you turn word suggestion on, words are suggested as you key in the first letters.
Tap the Menu key.
If you turn word suggestion on, words are suggested as you key in the first letters.
Tap Save.
If you turn word suggestion on, words are suggested as you key in the first letters.

6. How to write text

The following steps describe how to use the different keypad types when word suggestion is turned on. The following steps can be used once you've opened a note or a message and your text input field is active.
Choose one of the following options:
Select keypad type, go to 4a.
Use full keypad, go to 4b.
Use phone keypad, go to 4c.
Use compact keypad, go to 4d.

7. 4a - Select keypad type

Tap the Menu key.
Enable Full Keyboard is a full keypad with one letter on each key.
Enable Multi-Tap is a phone keypad with several letters on each key.
Enable SureType is a compact computer keypad with several letters on each key.
Tap Enable Full Keyboard or Enable Reduced Keyboard (depending on the current setting).
Enable Full Keyboard is a full keypad with one letter on each key.
Enable Multi-Tap is a phone keypad with several letters on each key.
Enable SureType is a compact computer keypad with several letters on each key.
If you select Enable Reduced Keyboard:
Enable Full Keyboard is a full keypad with one letter on each key.
Enable Multi-Tap is a phone keypad with several letters on each key.
Enable SureType is a compact computer keypad with several letters on each key.
Tap the Menu key.
Enable Full Keyboard is a full keypad with one letter on each key.
Enable Multi-Tap is a phone keypad with several letters on each key.
Enable SureType is a compact computer keypad with several letters on each key.
Tap Enable SureType or Enable Multi-Tap (depending on the current setting).
Enable Full Keyboard is a full keypad with one letter on each key.
Enable Multi-Tap is a phone keypad with several letters on each key.
Enable SureType is a compact computer keypad with several letters on each key.

8. 4b - Use full keypad

Tap once on each letter key to write the required word.
A number of words based on the letters you've keyed in are displayed.
Tap the required word to insert it.
To key in numbers or symbols:
Tap &%123.
Tap the required numbers or the required symbols.
Tap &% to see more symbols.
Tap the required symbols.

9. 4c - Use phone keypad

Tap ABC once to write A, twice to write B and three times to write C etc.
Wait until the cursor moves to the right if you want to write two letters from the same key in succession.
Please note: word suggestion isn't available for the phone keypad.
To key in numbers or symbols:
Tap 123 or &%.

Tap 1/3 or 2/3 to see more symbols.

Tap the required number or the required symbol.

10. 4d - Use compact keypad

Tap letter key once on each to write the required word.
A number of words based on the letters you've keyed in are displayed.
Tap the required word to insert it.
To key in numbers or symbols:
Tap 123 or &%.
Tap 1/3 or 2/3 to see more symbols.
Tap the required number or the required symbol.

11. Exit

Tap Disconnect.
Tap the Return key to return to standby mode.
