Setting up my mobile phone for email
Want to set up your mobile phone for email? Follow these easy instructions.
List view
1. Find "Mobile Data Network"
Tap Settings.
Tap General.
Tap Mobile Data.
Tap Mobile Data Network.
2. Enter APN
Tap APN below Mobile Data.
Key in yesinternet
Key in yesinternet
3. Save settings
Tap Mobile.
Tap General.
Tap Settings.
Tap the Home key to return to standby mode.
4. Find "Mail, Contacts, Calendars"
Tap Settings.
Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
5. Create new email account
Tap Add Account....
Tap the required provider.
If your email provider isn't on the list:
Tap Other.
Tap Other.
Tap Add Mail Account.
6. Enter sender name
Tap Name and key in the name you want to use as sender name in your email.
7. Enter email address
Tap Email and key in your email address.
8. Enter password
Tap Password and key in the password for your email account.
9. Enter email account name
Tap Description and key in a name for your email account (such as Private or Work).
Tap Next.
10. Select option

11. Select synchronisation settings
Tap the indicator next to the required data type to turn synchronisation of the specific data types on or off.
Tap Save.
12. Select settings for retrieval of new email
Tap Fetch New Data.
Tap the indicator next to Push to turn the function on or off.
If you turn off Push:
Tap the required period or Manually.
To select settings for a specific email account:
Tap Advanced.
Tap Advanced.
Tap the required email account.
Tap Fetch or Manual.
Tap Advanced.
Tap Fetch New Data.
13. Exit
Tap the Home key to return to standby mode.
14. Select server type
Tap POP.
15. Enter incoming server
Tap Host Name below Incoming Mail Server.
Key in the name or the IP address of your email provider's incoming server.
If Optus is your email provider, key in mail.optusnet.com.au as your incoming server.
Key in the name or the IP address of your email provider's incoming server.
If Optus is your email provider, key in mail.optusnet.com.au as your incoming server.
16. Enter username
Tap User Name below Incoming Mail Server and key in the username for your email account at your email provider.
17. Enter outgoing server
Tap Host Name below Outgoing Mail Server and key in smtp.optusnet.com.au
18. Save information
Tap Save.
19. Select settings for retrieval of new email
Tap Fetch New Data.
Tap the indicator next to Push to turn the function on or off.
If you turn off Push:
Tap the required period or Manually.
To select settings for a specific email account:
Tap Advanced.
Tap Advanced.
Tap the required email account.
Tap Fetch or Manual.
Tap Advanced.
Tap Fetch New Data.
20. Save and exit
Tap Mail... to save the settings.
Tap the Home key to return to standby mode.
