How to
Turn use of PIN on or off
Your PIN protects your SIM from unauthorised use if your mobile phone should get stolen. If use of PIN is turned on, it needs to be keyed in when you turn on your mobile phone.
List view
Find "SIM security"
Tap the Navigation key.
Select Settings.
Select Security.
Select SIM security.
Turn use of PIN on or off
Select PIN lock to turn the function on or off.
Key in your PIN and tap the Left selection key.
If an incorrect PIN is entered three times in a row, your SIM will be blocked. To unblock your SIM, you'll need to key in your PUK. The PUK can be obtained by contacting Customer Service. Please note: If an incorrect PUK is entered ten times in a row, your SIM is blocked permanently. In this case, you'll need a new SIM from Optus.
Return to the home screen
Tap Disconnect to return to the home screen.
Tap the Navigation key.
Select Settings.
Select Security.
Select SIM security.
Select PIN lock to turn the function on or off.
Key in your PIN and tap the Left selection key.
